Happy Independence Day
Hi There, Ithaca…What Do You Want to Discuss?
Welcome to all the readers from Ithaca. I’m glad you’ve stopped by and I welcome your participation. Please look through the archives (this blog only began in February so it won’t take long) as I think many of you will find things that are connected to Dr. Charsky’s class and to teaching. Feel free to post comments to anything, regardless of how old it is. | |
Dr. Charsky was a guest presenter down here in Memphis last summer and I’m hoping to visit Ithaca someday. In the meantime, we’ll just have to get acquainted here on this blog. 🙂 With that said, I thought I’d open the floor to discussion…what would you like to talk about? |
COMING SOON: Moving the Discussion Forward
I’ve been wrestling with the idea of how to move the whole discussion of technology integration forward. After 10+ years of work in this area I really haven’t seen much change in what people are talking about or how we are looking at this topic. It seems like most are in agreement that technology should be integrated with teaching and learning, but here we are 10 years later and most still aren’t certain about how to proceed. It’s almost as if we’ve all agreed to go to the bus station, but no one is getting on the bus. I, for one, am ready for this adventure to begin!!!
I’ve been/I’m currently trying to clarify and articulate my thoughts about all of this for myself. It was time for my mission statement to be updated…if you will. My plan is to share my thoughts on this topic in a series of posts. Look for them soon…and please share your thoughts and feedback.
Cool Picture
I ran across this cool picture today via FNC. I thought you might enjoy it. It’s interesting artwork created with Flash by a group of online collaborators. I think it’s a good illustration of the potential of Web 2.0/Teaching 2.0.
What do you think?!?!
Spider-Man 3
I saw Spider-Man 3 tonight. The CGI and special effects were excellent, but the storyline had room for improvement. There were just too many characters’ storylines crammed into this one film. They did a good job of trying to stay true to each villain’s story. They also did a great job of bringing each character off the page and onto the screen – each of the villains look great. Overall, I thought it was really good but it is definitely the least good of the three Spider-Man movies.  Here’s looking forward to the 4th one!!!
AERA Conference
The 2007 American Educational Research Association (AERA) Conference is this week. The Instructional Technology Special Interest Group (SIG-IT) has many good presentations scheduled throughout the conference.
Happy Easter
Happy Easter, everyone.
Hear the bells ringing, they’re singing that you can be born again
Here the bells ringing, they’re singing Christ is risen from the dead
The angels up on the tombstone
Said He has risen, just as He said
Quickly now, go tell his disciples
That Jesus Christ is no longer dead
Joy to the word, He has risen, hallelujah
He’s risen, hallelujah
He’s risen, hallelujah

Hoops Dreams
The Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker last night in the Final Four of the NIT. It was their game to win but they blew it.
And So It Begins
Welcome. This blog has been an idea of mine for quite a long time, but I’m finally getting around to making it happen (While watching Super Bowl XLI). This is intended to be a place where I can share information, ideas, etc. with others that also have an interest in education, technology and more…hence the blog’s title, Clif’s Notes on Education, Technology and More.
Let the fun begin!
