Social Bookmarking (with del.icio.us) in Plain English

Screencasting
Still More…

New Screencasting Tools
We’re getting ready to embark on our instructional digital video module in one of the classes that I teach. I ran across Joselyn Todd’s post in which she discusses the use of screencasting tools by her and by her students. Dr. Todd also provides a list of free software tools that can be used to help you and your students begin screencasting today.
Not Stopped by Blindness
Fourteen year old, Ben Underwood, does not let blindness stop him from doing anything. This 3 minute news clip is amazing!!!
We can all learn a thing or two from Ben’s positive attitude and determination.
Helping the Starving [VIDEO]
I’ve received countless requests to post this again, so here it is.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this short video speaks for itself. THIS is truly “must see TV.”
Video for Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
(I know that it looks like I’m on this music video kick, but I’m really not. I’ve had these bookmarked for months and have been meaning to post them. For whatever reason I’ve just managed to throw these all up here back-to-back-to-back.)
Someone decided to share their fun interpretation of Daft Punk’s Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. This video reminds me of the Selfish Jean video because they are both providing the words to accompany the song lyrics. However, they are very different in their presentations.
Are these folks really creative or do they just have too much free time?!?! 🙂
Video for Selfish Jean
The is the clever video for Selfish Jean starring Demetri Martin. It’s from the album The Boy With No Name. I can imagine that showing this to students would really get the creative juices flowing for many of them. There’s no telling what kind of impact this would have on their creative expression, interpretation, communication, etc.
Here It Goes Again by OK Go
Here’s the world (in)famous Here It Goes Again treadmill video from the band OK Go. I think educators and instructional designers should take note of the success of this and other insanely popular viral videos and consider the implications related to teaching, learning, and motivation. (A viral video is a video that has been passed around many times and has gained popularity largely by word of mouth, email, instant messaging, or online bulletin boards, rather than a publicity campaign.)
