Happy Memorial Day

I know I’ve already posted an entry about Memorial Day. I just like the meaning of this commercial too much not to add this video today. I’m spending time in airports today and have seen similar demonstrations of appreciation in action.

With great appreciation to all that serve.

  1. I’ve seen this commercial & it actually had me feeling pretty upset and pissed off. Yes, I appreciate that these men and women are willing to protect us. But the underlying reasons of why there is a war, why there is a recession and why the world is in such bad shape can not be covered up with a commercial that pulls at the heart strings.

What about all of the people who have died, or been damaged because of a war that’s really about control, power and money?

If America minded its own business, like Canada & Switzerland, and took better care of Americans – there wouldn’t be so much hatred towards our country.

Sorry to rant, but we all deserve a better world to live in – especially our kids. This is not a better world, and this commercial only reminds me of this fact.

    Peace,

  2. Kellie80,

I’m not a NASCAR fan but I like what they always say. “Thanks to those that serve and those that wait.” I appreciate your family’s sacrifices.

  3. Gotta admit – this one got to me. Have two brothers who are Marines: one went to Iraq at the very beginning, one did 3 tours. Both made it back, but not the same. Thanks for posting this.
