Why Twitter?

When Darren Rowse, also known as @problogger in the Twitterverse, recently asked his “Twitter followers why they loved twitter over 100 of them responded in just a couple of hours. This video is a collection of their answers.” I share it for the following reasons.

  1. Perhaps it will encourage those that are reluctant to try Twitter to take it for a test drive.
  2. I’d like to know why those of you that already use Twitter do so.
  3. Are there any benefits for educators in using Twitter?

One thought on “Why Twitter?”

  1. I love the fact that the question was asked, that so many responded, that multitudes honed in on the same theme, that newbies were unsure (they’ll be addicted soon…), and that someone compiled these into a video. I have tried many times to explain Twitter (my PLN, as an ed tech) to other intelligent people — educators and friends in the business world. They don’t “get it” because they can only comprehend a traditional chat room (and I think, the stereotypical bad guys that live there). This video opens new doors for me, ways to convince via a collective voice. Thanks to @problogger, and thanks to you for sharing this on your blog!
