The first Midsouth EduTweetUp of 2011 was held Tuesday evening at the IDT Studio. Approximately 10 educators representing several school districts and area independent schools enjoyed an informative evening of networking and idea-sharing.
The evening’s festivities included opportunities for requesting advice/advice sharing, a tour of the IDT Studio, discussion about upcoming events, and concluded with a Web 2.0 Smackdown, where attendees had the opportunity to demonstrate their favorite Web 2.0 tool and share how it can be integrated with teaching and learning.
Thanks to everyone that participated and made this a fun and informative event.
A special thanks to Philip Cummings for coordinating the barbecue dinner and to Trey Martindale for hosting us in the IDT Studio.

The Tennessee Discovery Education Network Leadership Council (TN DEN LC) is hosting 3 live events for the DEN SciCon Virtual Conference happening January 22nd! So, no matter where you live in TN, you can attend a live event with relative ease and be part of one of the most fantastic groups of educators anywhere on the planet…the DEN!
So why go to a live event? First, you will get to spend quality time with educators who share the same passions for Discovery and science that you have. Second, there will be live workshops at the events that will not be available to you online. Third (as if you need another reason), the food is on us! And fourth, we will be skyping all three groups together so we can all meet one another across the state!

I decided to share AudioBoo during my presentation at TeacheMeet Memphis. Our kids and I have a lot of fun with this service. AudioBoo makes podcasting and audio blogging a snap and can positively impact your classroom (See previous posts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). Here are my notes as well as the Ustream archive from my session.
